Mommy Tummy's here to stay, at least for now

Home workout DVDs are a huge industry. And why are they so huge? Well, because they offer people like me hope that we can actually take 45 mins and do something good for ourselves. Seems simple enough: Purchase DVD, put said DVD into DVD player, push play..... But seriously who am I kidding??
Anyone who has tried to do an at home workout DVD with small children around knows it goes more like this: Purchase DVD in desperation while attempting to shop while both kids are crying to go home, leave DVD in packaging for 2 weeks while you procrastinate doing it, unwrap DVD and put it in DVD player, press play, press stop to go get sippy cup with juice, press play, press stop to change a poopy diaper, press play, press stop to turn on a movie for kids so you can finish DVD, press play, press stop so you can go pee yourself, press play, press stop so you can get kids a snack... it's been 27 mins and you are only 3 mins in to the DVD!
And those hosts are sooo patronizing in their little workout gear that actually fits them, and the energy they have!! It's annoying! It's like they slept through the night w/o anyone small creeping in asking them to go pee pee with them at 3am.
I'd like to see a DVD that shows a Mommy attempting to do a workout DVD with her 2 kids in the same room as her. She'd most likely be wearing an old baggy t-shirt and a pair of shorts from her high school gym days that really accentuate the mommy tummy she is trying to get rid of. Her hair would be a mess and you would be able to tell she did not have a make up crew helping out her dark circles and patchy complexion. She'd be so motivated at the beginning until her 2 kids started to get demanding and she had to continously stop just as her hear rate was rising. She'd be sure she had done at least 10 mins of cardio and be disappointed to discover it has only really been 2 mins off and on. Eventually she'd just give up and sign off saying "Guess I'll try again tomorrow".
One day I'll actually finish one of these DVD's, I only have 17 years until the boys will be out of the house. Until then, Thank God for control top pants and Fall sweaters...
